John Mayer, of course. Also, U2, Sheryl Crowe, Tom Petty
and The Heartbreakers, John Cougar Mellencamp (or his name choice of the day), Green Day, Van Halen (I was a teen of the 80's, for God's sake). My dad
was a blues bassist, but it is only lately that I have come to appreciate his gifts -he passed on in 1999.
Interesting facts about me
I was born with several birth defects. The first being esophageal
atresia which in my case meant I had almost no esophagus at all. I had a feeding tube (G-tube) in my abdomen for 21 months until surgeons in Dalllas could
surgically replace my esophagus with a portion of my bowel. I also had a hole between my ventricles of my heart chambers or AKA a VSD (ventricular septal
defect). This gap closed on it's own. Also at birth part of my brain was protruding into my spinal column. This is calles a Chiari Malformation. I did not
have symptoms of this until I turned 26 years old. I lost feeling in my left arm and had shooting severe nerve pain in my head, chest and both arms. I was left
with chronic pain in my neck and left arm.
Later in life I developed epilepsy and last year I began
having full grand -mal seizures. My husband would find me unconscious on the floor post-ichtal (or after the seizure had occurred). I have been on a ventilator
several times due to aspiration during my seizures. In 2005 I had to have my esophageal graft removed because it was harming my heart and lungs. My stomach is
now just below my neckline making aspiration almost an at least every week ordeal. I am unable to drive right now due to my seizures because it has only been a
few weeks since my husband found me last unconscious.
I also suffer from asthma and a iron deficiency anemia. I
have a port in my chest where I receive iron infusions when I need them to build my blood volume back so I don't have to receive so many
transfusions.
Every 2-4 weeeks I have a stricture in my neck streched just sbove my stomach so that my food will go down.
I am a registered nurse, but with my health have not been able to work.
I love to paint and draw. I am able to use my art as a way to relax.

I have had my share of it, but I could definitely be a lot worse off. Thank you for your kind words. I do have good and bad days (as does everyone). Thank
you for your concern and take care! The funniest thing, I am the clumbsiest ever. I am not even sure how I did it, but I broke one of my toes on my right
foot and half my foot turned blue-from a stupid toe...not pretty. I am supposed to wear this awful boot for a month...really, it's lovely!
